The Divisi speaker family mimics the immersive atmosphere of a live performance, allowing users to direct isolated instrument tracks of their chosen music to separate speakers and adjust each one's soundscape through a single unified interaction.

Project scope
While most modern speaker systems still function primarily as passive intermediary devices, the Divisi quartet explores spatial immersion in an attempt to shorten the perceived gap between recording and listening.
development
Using stem-splitting technology, each instrument track in a song is automatically separated from the mix and diverted to its own speaker, creating the sonic illusion of individual performers.
interface
Each Divisi speaker is adorned with an abstract visualization of its own soundscape. When a user changes the position of its head to manipulate volume, the surrounding lines warp to represent that speaker's emitted sound wave output.
Strips along the side of the speaker allude to an abstract soundscape.
When pushing down on the speaker's head to raise volume, these strips would bend outwards, directly representing the increased volume of emitted sound waves.

An accompanying app streamlines the instrument configuration process and allows users to save arrangements for future use.
COnclusion
Removing all unnecessary aspects of a traditional speaker interface, Divisi strips audio control to its absolute basics and emulates the spatial effect of a live performance in pursuit of a perfected immersive listening experience.
