Precor Reach formalizes the stretching ritual, turning a casual, overlooked, and often formidable activity into a widely accessible, guided routine.
By emulating the natural mechanics of lower-body joints, the device can steer users of all mobility ranges into the correct stretching orientations.
Precor Reach strips user interaction to its absolute basics, balancing key concerns in accessibility, ease of use, autonomy, and anxiety-avoidance.
The device considers all zones of current assistive stretching technology, opting for a solution that tends toward a user-controlled, yet guided process.
Ongoing iteration led to a stretch-actuating dial that simplifies and unifies the core interaction, preserving user autonomy.
Designed with Precor's VBL in mind, Precor Reach looks towards the future of gym equipment while maintaining a comfortable sense of familiarity.
The machine adjusts to accommodate the proportions and ranges of motion of the 5th–95th percentiles of heights and sizes.
An orientation process for new users streamlines the calibration process and opens the doors for personal metric collection and goal setting.
